XTC’s groundbreaking 1979 album Drums and Wires gets a stunning 2025 reissue with a fresh Dolby Atmos mix by Steven Wilson, revealing new sonic detail and depth.
The reissue includes all 2014 remixed content plus bonus tracks, demos, and previously unreleased speed-corrected versions of “Officer Blue” and “That is the Way.”
Guitarist Dave Gregory praises the updated mix for bringing modern polish without compromising the album’s historical integrity.

The release features high-resolution audio in multiple formats, including original, instrumental, and DJM mixes, all on a single Blu-ray disc.

This brilliant 1979 album from one of Britain's most enduring and underrated bands has been remastered and crammed with hours of extra material. Included on the second disc (Bluray to accomodate the 5.1 Surround Sound mixes) there are instrumental mixes of the full album, the original master, garage demos, album rehearsals, 2 sets of live performances, videos, additional stereo mixes, extra sessions featuring previously unheard gems and loads more.
