To Celebrate their debut album 'KiiKO Forever' released on October 9th we are thrilled to have KiiKO instore for an intimate performance and signing on Friday October 30th. KiiKO are an Irish-Japanese band fronted by Emmy Shigeta, a Japanese DJ who has lived in Dublin for eight years. Emmy writes the lyrics and sings in Japanese and English. John McDowell, who previously released music as As Many as Possible, produces. Dave Rogers plays drums. The music is energetic and playful electronic pop with powerful live drums, arpeggiated synths and lush strings under staccato bilingual vocals. Their first single, "July", is based on Tanabata, the Japanese wish-making festival held on July 7. The idea of wishing for something beyond your dreams has run through everything since. KiiKO is about relentless positivity and never giving up. Since their first single in 2025, KiiKO have sold out Whelan's upstairs, supported NYC's Kassie Krut at Bello Bar and played All Together Now and Féile na Gréine. They have been covered by Nialler9, District, Resident Advisor, Four Four Magazine and The Thin Air. Their debut album KiiKO Forever is self-released on 9 October 2026, on all streaming platforms and on limited edition white vinyl. Acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke releases his eighth studio album, Oceanic. Recorded in Sydney, the album marks a profound full-circle moment in O’Rourke’s life and career – a record shaped not only by place, but by time, memory and return. Oceanic was recorded with longtime friend and collaborator Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) in the role of co-producer and contributing musician. A confident and carefully shaped record, Oceanic captures a life lived across two continents and hemispheres. Speaking on the album, O’Rourke explains: “Oceanic somehow wrote, and then made itself too. I’ve always felt that being an artist is a process of stripping away layers of yourself to get to the core. Boa Morte formed in Cork, Ireland, in 1998, rising from the dust of a couple of ragged but respected indie bands. By the end of that year, the band released their debut EP "Passenger, Measure Your Time," produced by Mark Carolan. That record sparked record label interest, culminating in the band signing to US label Moodfood Records, home of Ryan Adams and Whiskeytown, in 1999. Signal:Lost has evolved out of a somewhat unexpected period of productivity and invention in the Boa Morte world. Not only did the band build and equip their own studio, but they simultaneously recorded two very different albums for release 6 months apart. Signal:Lost is the first of these, with The Following On set for release early in 2027; two sides of the same coin. The process has seen the band develop into a tighter ensemble that nevertheless relishes a newfound freedom for improvisation and innovation. As always, the quality of the songwriting remains key; if Signal:Lost represents a wayward distress signal, then it’s the band’s innate melodic compass that brings us firmly back on track. The Next New Low is a project from Brian Mooney. In the early nineties Brian was to be found behind the sound desk in the dark little venues of Dublin. Setting up the stage in The Underground and The Attic for bands like Whipping Boy, Pet Lamb, Luggage, The Wormholes, Felmale Hercules and a host of other bands that were blasting their way through those days. He fronted the by now legendary band The Idiots (Dirt Records) and was sound designer for a number of theatre productions most notably Pan Pan Theatre. Composer and multi-instrumentalist David Geraghty is a founding member of Bell X1 and he continues to be a driving force behind the band. Releases have included ten albums (four No.1s), extensive world tours, as well as opening for acts such as U2 and Ed Sheeran. Geraghty’s output also includes composing for TV & Film (which includes the short"The Crush" which was short-listed for an Oscar). Alongside this, Geraghty releases solo works. His debut, "Kill Your Darlings" (2007), was received with critical acclaim and was followed up in 2009 with the equally evocative "The Victory Dance". 2014 marked the first of two releases for Geraghty under the moniker "Join Me In The Pines" with an album of brooding dark folk called "Inherit". The release of "Monomania" in 2019 saw a startling shift to a groove-based electro sound that has flashes of Prince, Gary Numan, Bowie, Nile Rodgers with reviewers commenting:"Geraghty has proven himself a master of melody in the past, but this album confirms that he’s a crackerjack when it comes to groove and soul, too. Since his last release, Geraghty completed an undergraduate course where he majored in composition and the study of classical piano. This saw him compose for a range of styles, which included Wind Ensemble, String Quartet and Electronica. These new musical ventures have allowed Geraghty to build on over 30 years of writing songs and creating cinematic soundscapes for screen. For the making of the new album ‘KOMOREBI’, Geraghty also added the enriching process of mixing to his writer/producer credentials.
