Mike Scott will discuss Atlantic Rain, a remarkable new three-disc collection available on vinyl and CD, featuring previously unheard recordings from the legendary Fisherman's Blues era. Drawing from one of the most celebrated and influential periods in The Waterboys’ history, Atlantic Rain offers fans an unprecedented glimpse into the creativity, experimentation and musical spirit that shaped those iconic sessions. Hosted by Jim Carroll, this intimate event will explore the stories behind the recordings, the enduring legacy of the Fisherman's Blues years, and the process of bringing these long-lost tracks to light. A rare opportunity to spend an evening with Mike Scott, one of contemporary music’s most distinctive songwriters, and celebrate an extraordinary new release. In the vein of some of Ireland’s greatest talents: Sinead O’Connor; Dolores O’Riordan, O’Neill is a singer and songwriter of astonishing purity. O'Neill's music is informed by queer temporality—the theory that queer lives challenge the traditional linear flow of time—which she studied while writing her thesis for her undergraduate English degree. The structures of her songs follow similar nonlinear paths, rejecting typical verse-chorus arrangements in favor of more winding trajectories.
