Rev Hammer, maverick folk artist and touring veteran, has been writing and releasing music for over 40 years. He regards his music not so much as a passport to fame and fortune but as a ticket to ride, enjoying numerous tours, collaborations, and projects over his long and varied career.
The Old Crow Folk Club album features 23 of his songs re-imagined by friends and artists including Justin Sullivan (New Model Army), Mark Chadwick (Levellers), Maddy Prior (Steeleye Span), Simon Friend (Levellers), Seth Lakeman, John Jones (Oysterband), Dan Donnelly and Jon Sevink (Levellers), Nick Harper, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, Nick Parker, Joolz Denby and more.
Each artist chose a song and were given free rein to make it their own. The combined result is an eclectic and compelling body of work, breathing new life into some of Rev Hammer’s vast back catalogue.
