This release symbolises a moment in time—a blueprint for dance music before the world knew what it was. Formally referred to as Garage, House, or Loft music in the '80s, Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan shaped the sound from its roots. Larry, resident DJ at Paradise Garage in New York, and Frankie at The Warehouse in Chicago, were both prolific remixers and among the first career DJs. Two close friends. Countless genres. One feeling.
