UHQ-CD - Marking 85 years representing The Finest In Jazz, UM Japan are making available no less than 118 titles selected from Blue Note’s analog "Tone Poet" and "Classic Vinyl" reissue series on UHQ-CD. Remastering by Kevin Gray, these releases reproduce the sound of the original master tapes as faithfully as possible. Each title is presented on 1 UHQ-CD jewel case with obi-strip with original sleeve notes reproduced on the back inlay.

The legendary pianist and composer Thelonious Monk made his earliest recordings as a leader for Blue Note in 1947–48 as heard on the 1956 12” compilation Genius of Modern Music, Volume One (BLP 1510) released as part of the 1500 series featuring timeless Monk compositions including “’Round Midnight,” “Ruby My Dear,” “In Walked Bud,” and “Well You Needn’t.”
