The Soul Seven - Mr. Chicken... The Soul Seven

The Soul Seven was a group formed by music students on scholarship at Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. In 1969, they released this incredibly rare single, featuring two irresistible deep-funk cuts, which we now have the pleasure of reissuing. It was originally recorded for the Soultex label, founded by Dallas-based label owner and musician Roger Boykin. Their brief recording career as The Soul Seven was capped by another 45 featuring none other than Ike Turner, a testament to just how solid a band these young musicians were.
