Originally released in 1986, Swimmer is the debut album by Scottish pop band The Big Dish. Produced by Ian Ritchie, Glyn Johns, Paul Hardiman, and the band, the album introduced their melodic, atmospheric guitar-pop sound, shaped by the distinctive songwriting and vocals of Steven Lindsay.

The album includes the singles Slide, Prospect Street, and Christina's World, helping establish The Big Dish as one of Scotland's most promising alternative pop acts of the 1980s. Over the years, Swimmer has become recognised as the foundation for the band's later albums, Creeping Up on Jesus (1988) and Satellites (1991), and remains an essential release in their catalogue.

This 40th anniversary edition has been remastered by Paul McGeechan, pressed by Seabass Vinyl, and released by Past Night From Glasgow. It is available on two shades of coloured vinyl.
