Stiff Little Fingers' Peel Sessions very much helped bring the Northern Irish punks to wider acclaim, as was so often the role that the late great presenter played in the evolution of many an alternative group. Recorded between 1978 and 1980, each session captures the band's raw, angry energy of SLF at its peak. This album features mostly tracks from their first two albums across 12 recordings that showcase simplistic, unpolished production that perfectly complements their punk spirit. Although their first 1978 session is lost, the collection includes standout versions like Johnny Was and the lyrically updated Nobody's Hero, a highlight worth the price alone. Thanks to John Peel's support, these sessions offer a snapshot of SLF's fierce sound and serve as a powerful companion to their studio albums.
