Roy Budd - Fear Is The Key (Soundtrack) Roy Budd
Limited edition of 500 individually numbered copies on 180 gram white & red marbled vinyl. Includes insert with liner notes
Fear Is The Key is a 1972 British action thriller directed by Michael Tuchner and starring Barry Newman (Vanishing Point) and Suzy Kendall. Based on Fear Is the Key by Alistair MacLean, the film is perhaps best remembered for its spectacular and extended car chase sequence. To accompany this scene, composer Roy Budd created a thrilling ten-minute-plus action cue that required split-second timing, with every bar carefully crafted to blend seamlessly with the film’s sound effects. The achievement is all the more remarkable considering Budd was only 25 years old when he recorded the score.
A notable piece of film history, Fear Is The Key also marks the feature film debut of Ben Kingsley. Fans of hard-driving British jazz will find plenty to enjoy in Budd’s dynamic and inventive soundtrack. The score will also appeal to enthusiasts of jazz-funk and the distinctive library music associated with labels such as KPM Music and Music De Wolfe.
Fear Is The Key is available as a limited edition of 500 individually numbered copies on white & red marbled vinyl. Pressed on 180 gram audiophile vinyl, this release includes an insert featuring liner notes.
