On her debut album, S C A P E G.O.A.T., Irish alt-rocker Ria Rua takes on big, burly themes like conformity, misogyny and patriarchal oppression. The opening track is an outright challenge to listeners: “Now that I have your attention / It's time to question your life.”
Hailing from Ireland, Ria Rua ("Red Queen" in Irish) is known for her explosive and emotional performances. Her lyrics are pointed and personal but the themes are universal: sex, power and freedom. Expect grungy and electronic rock anthems. Her tracks often feature a blend of industrial textures and introspective melodies - music that sounds like an angry soundtrack to the looming collapse.
