Red Garland - All Mornin' Long Red Garland

The complete LP + 1 bonus track pressed on 180g vinyl

All Mornin' Long by the Red Garland Quintet was originally released in April 1958 through Prestige Records. It features only three pieces, the album's title track by Garland, Gershwin's 'They Can't TakeThat Away From Me', and Tadd Damerons' 'Our Delight', performances which belong to the hard bop subgenre and distinguish themselves by being fast-paced and bluesy. The quintet's distinguished personnel include John Coltrane and Art Taylor, who along with Garland are all famously known for their collaborations with Miles Davis. Jazz critic Ira Gitler wrote: "the title piece is a many-splendored, deep-dish demonstration of feeling, mood and melody".

Includes the bonus track: 'I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)' from the same session but not included on the original LP.

"Blowing sessions rely on the ability of the participants for their success; this one is particularly valuable because the participants were ready." - **** Don Gold, DownBeat
