Presented here is Ray Charles' sensational debut LP compiled from Atlantic singles dating back as far as 1953, during Charles' most inspired years. The pieces on this recording, most of them written by Charles himself, included perennial hits such as "I've Got a Woman", "Hallelujah I Love Her So", "Ain't That Love", "Mary Ann", "A Fool for You", and "Drown in My Own Tears".
Of the 3 bonus tracks, "Hit The Road Jack", written by Percy Mayfield, is from 1961 and released by ABC Records.
