THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF THE SEA is a new quartet recording from UK born, Ireland-based Phil Robson, and New York saxophonist, Jed Levy. Though they have been playing together for about 10 years, this is their first release. The album also features leading Italian drummer, Roberto Gatto and front line UK bassist, Mark Hodgson.

Recorded in Rome, late last year, the album feature 10 original compositions, split equally between Phil and Jed. This high quality contemporary jazz, accessible to the ear but rich in nuance and originality. Each of the band members are active in many other settings. Jed and Phil have played major US jazz clubs (e.g. 55 Bar and Smalls), and toured in UK and Europe. As a quartet they gelled on a UK/Italy tour in late 2025, before going to the studio to record this special record.

The album will be supported by an UK and Ireland tour in May '26.
