The Talented Mr. Ripley soundtrack combines Gabriel Yared's Oscar-nominated original score with a carefully curated selection of jazz recordings that reflect the tastes of the film's charismatic Dickie Greenleaf, played by Jude Law. Classic performances by Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie are interwoven with Yared's evocative orchestral compositions, while opening tracks feature vocal performances by cast members Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.
One of the soundtrack's emotional highlights is Lullaby for Cain, written by Gabriel Yared and beautifully performed by Sinéad O'Connor. Together with Yared's atmospheric score, it captures both the film's growing psychological tension and the dreamlike beauty of its Italian setting.
Directed by Anthony Minghella, The Talented Mr. Ripley stars Matt Damon as Tom Ripley, who is sent to Italy to persuade Dickie Greenleaf to return home, only to become consumed by Dickie's glamorous lifestyle. The acclaimed cast also includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The film received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Original Score for Gabriel Yared.
