Orchestra Gold - African Psychedelic Rock Orchestra Gold

Cosmic, psychedelic African rock from Oakland! Orchestra Gold’s 2022 debut album fuses Malian vocalist Mariam Diakité’s Bambara-language vocals and African polyrhythms with hypnotic fuzz guitar.

Based in Oakland, California, Orchestra Gold delivers a highly addictive form of African rock that bridges the worlds of rock and global music. At the heart of their sound is Malian singer Mariam Diakité, whose powerful Bambara vocals flow over intricate African polyrhythms, while swirling fuzz guitar and distinctive reverb create an immersive, psychedelic atmosphere.

The result is a mesmerizing blend of African rhythms, psychedelic rock, and cosmic textures—music that feels both deeply rooted in West African tradition and boldly contemporary. The band's hypnotic grooves and intoxicating guitar work create a richly atmospheric soundscape that draws listeners in from the very first track.

Released in 2022, this debut album is a striking example of how African musical traditions can collide with psychedelic rock to create something fresh, visceral, and utterly addictive.
