Orchestra Boabab - Si Bou Odja (2026 Repress) Orchestra Boabab
Black Vinyl LP
Originally released in 1981, Orchestra Baobab’s second studio album, Si bou Odja – produced at the Golden Baobab in Dakar by the young producer Ibrahima Sylla – has been reissued by Syllart Records.
Following their masterpiece Mouhamadou Bamba, recorded in the same year, Sibou Odja was to once again make its mark on the history of Senegalese music, propelling the group’s success into a new musical decade. Under the leadership of the dynamic saxophonist Issa Sissokho and the ever-present guitarist Barthélémy Attiso, it was notably the young singer Médoune Diallo – a future icon of Senegalese salsa – who delivered one of his masterpieces with the irresistible Autorail, a driving track celebrating the opening of the railway line linking Dakar to Niamey.
The mastering was carried out using the master tapes from the album’s studio recording. The cover is a reproduction of the original. The LP includes a printed inner sleeve. The cover features a glossy finish to remain as faithful as possible to the original release.
