On the legendary Warp Zone album, Canada's MARTYR created a unique atmosphere that constantly shifted between aggression and melancholy. The band's technical ability greatly aided their varied musical transitions and choices.

Tempo changes are extremely common, and they unsettle while keeping things interesting. Daniel Mongrain and François Mongrain's vocals shift from chant-like belting to the classic guttural death metal growl of the time. Pier-Luc Lampron and Daniel Mongrain's guitar work is impeccable here, and they effortlessly switch between quick, precise melodies and crushing riffs. Patrice Hamelin's drumming has no trouble keeping up, and his primal, brutal sound often keeps the album grounded. François Mongrain's bass work is rock-solid, and helps drive the tracks forward.

Originally released in 2000, Warp Zone is available on vinyl and CD for the first time in over 10 years. The classic sophomore album is fully remixed and remastered.
