Genre: Classical and Jazz
A sixth album dedicated to musical freedom and breaking down the boundaries between classical and jazz, celebrating the rich historical cross-pollination between both genres (from Bizet/Charlie Parker to Ravel and Stravinsky).
Features a major masterpiece as its centrepiece: Bernd Alois Zimmermann’s demanding, rhythmically wild Trumpet Concerto based on the gospel Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen, recorded with the Orchestre National de France conducted by Cristian Măcelaru.
Custom arrangements penned by pianist Tim Allhoff, bringing together Lucienne’s core quartet (Franck Agulhon, Vincent Bourgeyx, Thomas Bramerie, Hugo Lippi), the Hanson Quartet, and Tim Allhoff featured on piano across three tracks.
