Lizabett Russo - Pe Under Trece Dorul Lizabett Russo

Four years on from her previous album Scotland-based singer-songwriter Lizabett Russo returns with Pe Unde Trece Dorul in November 2026 on Claret Red coloured vinyl

Like her previous discography Pe Unde Trece Dorul merges her native Romanian culture with elements of contemporary jazz and avant-garde folk. This special release sees Lizabett reimagine elements of traditional Romanian folk songs into something new. This album is a beautiful study in space and restraint, and captures Russo's gift for storytelling through music - once again showing why her name is uttered alongside the likes of Laura Marling and Kate Bush.

Lizabett Russo shares the significance of the album:

"This album gathers echoes of old folk songs, carried from the distant villages of Romania and entrusted to me by gifted musicians. Each piece has been gently reshaped and reimagined by me and Graeme Stephen, while the names in brackets (on the sleeve) honour those generous souls who first shared their music. My deepest thanks go to everyone who has been part of this journey. May these songs unfold like memories - fragile yet enduring - and may you hear within them a living thread of Romanian culture, woven anew for the present day."

"This is simply world-class work, by any standard" - Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6
"Wonderfully haunting" - Late Night Junction, BBC Radio 3
