Stadt der blauen Eier – Selected Recordings and Rarities 1980–1981 is a retrospective of Korpus Kristi, one of the early punk bands in West Germany that is today, quite unjustly, less well known. Released by Tapete Records, the collection documents a band that, alongside The Wirtschaftswunder and Die Radierer, formed part of the so-called "Limburger Pest", which produced some of the most original releases on the West German underground scene in the early 1980s.

Spanning 12 tracks, the compilation features singles, rarities, and selected tracks from the band’s 1981 album, finally making their brief but remarkable body of work accessible once again. The band claimed to be inspired by The Stooges, although decades later Bodenstein pointed to German-American proto-punk band The Monks as their spiritual predecessors.

Their live shows were marked by chaos and raw intensity, with a stage set featuring barbed wire, oil drums, and crosses creating a thoroughly blasphemous spectacle. Musically, Korpus Kristi deliberately resisted allowing the audience to settle into any conventional rhythm. Bass and drums shattered expectations, Pulch’s saxophone pushed the noise to extremes, chainsaw guitars cut through the mix, and Bodenstein’s vocals shifted between trilled squeals and roars, amplified through reverb and echo effects.
