Jay Kelly is the critically acclaimed 2025 drama-comedy starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler. The film is directed by Noah Baumbach, who enlisted Oscar-nominated composer Nicholas Britell, known for his work on Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk and the television series Succession.
Baumbach and Britell connected immediately during their first meeting through shared ideas about music in film. After reading the script, Britell instantly understood what the score should sound like. He was also closely involved throughout filming in Italy and England.
Just as the movie itself was shot on film, the score was recorded on analogue tape, something that is palpable when listening to the record. Every effort has been made to preserve the texture and warmth of the recordings as vividly as possible.
