Accompanied by his only guitar, the newcomer to Paris delivers with the assurance of a future star his first compositions (including his first hit, Quand on n'a qu'amour, recorded here several months before his 45-rpm edition). The second side offers a recital in public by Jacques Brel, recorded for the show 'Discoparade' at the Alhambra in 1962. Far from the confidential beginnings, accompanied by a piano and a string ensemble, the artist, ovationed, performs Les Bourgeois, Marieke, La Valse à mille temps or Ne me quitte pas.
