Lifeforce is the 1985 sci-fi horror cult film directed by Tobe Hooper, responsible for the 1974 horror classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Based on Colin Wilson’s 1976 novel The Space Vampires, the film follows the remnants of a race of intergalactic vampires brought to London, where they begin to infect the population.

Soundtracking this apocalyptic descent into chaos is the legendary composer Henry Mancini. James Horner was first asked to compose the score, but Mancini was brought in instead, crafting music that is both bombastic and ambient (and sometimes even atonal), performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
