Harry Connick, Jr. - Babe: Elaboratio A Tribute to My Mother Harry Connick, Jr.

Babe: Elaboratio is Harry Connick, Jr's most personal work to date: a 50-minute orchestral piece for piano, big band, and full orchestra, written as a tribute to his mother - Connick was ten years old when his mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer; she died three years later, when he was thirteen - Sweeping in scope and deeply intimate in origin, Babe: Elaboratio finds Connick moving beyond the stage to reveal a side of his story he's never shared before -- the private grief, memory, and devotion behind the music

Whether you know Harry Connick, Jr. as a Grammy- and Emmy- winning vocalist, pianist, actor, or bandleader, Babe: Elaboratio stands apart as a singular artistic statement -- a son's musical love letter to his mother, four and a half decades in the making.
