Emerging from the depths of 1970s roots and early reggae, this 7 inch pairs the haunting spirit of 'Freedom Train' backed with a signature dub version. Originally produced by Dennis Harris under DIP's Studio 16 wing, the vocal cut is credited to Gladstone Henry alongside Trio Jamaicos, with the flip delivering a skeletal, echo-drenched instrumental. 'Freedom Train' itself is a soulful plea sung with urgency and sincerity and anchored by classic reggae rhythm patterns, delicate guitar skank and a firm bass pulse. The Version offers a stripped-back, atmospheric space for reverence and somewhere the bass, drums and echoes can breathe.
