Francis and Gareth - Eyes Bright and Low Francis and Gareth

Eyes Bright and Low blends acoustic and electronic instrumentation with both analogue and digital processing

Francis Harris came across Gareth Quinn Redmond's debut album Laistigh Den Ghleo in 2019, and shortly after, they began discussing the possibility of working together.

This first took the form of Quinn Redmond working on Harris's album Thresholds. Soon after this initial collaboration, the two began working on an album that would later become Eyes Bright and Low. Designed by Alex Chumak, the artwork utilized processed fragments of 8mm film footage of ordinary things, such as small rays of light that shone on a puddle and began to look almost cosmic. Chumak noted that "the fonts were applied manually, letter by letter, preserving the natural imperfections of analog fonts, which served as a visual reflection of the production approach taken in creating the album."

'Francis' of Francis and Gareth is Francis Harris, beloved and revered New York electronic musician. 'Gareth' Is Irish composer, musician and producer Gareth Quinn Redmond.
