Fireboy DML - ZUKO! Fireboy DML

Global Afrobeats powerhouse Fireboy DML officially enters his next era with the release of his fifth studio album, ZUKO!—an 11-track masterclass in versatility, vision, and vulnerability. Renowned for seamless genre-blending and evocative songwriting, the Nigerian singer-songwriter expands the boundaries of his signature sound, fusing Afrobeats, R&B, and Afropop into a cohesive, high-intensity body of work. The project is driven by bold collaborations and undeniable anthems, including the high-energy viral hit “CLAAT!” featuring Jamaican dancehall heavy-hitter Masicka, and the soul-stirring “IMALI” alongside award-winning duo JAZZWRLD & Thukuthela.

Rooted in a visual direction introduced earlier this year, the album’s aesthetic pairs grainy, high-contrast black-and-white visuals with vivid red accents, mirroring its central themes of intensity and transformation. Evoking the iconic character arc of Prince Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Fireboy channels a parallel narrative of passion, identity, internal conflict, and ultimate redemption—crafting a project that feels as cinematic as it is personal.

Since his explosive 2019 debut album Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps, Fireboy DML has established himself as a dominant voice in the global music landscape. His impressive catalog includes the RIAA Platinum-certified phenomenon “Peru” (and its Billboard Hot 100-charting remix featuring Ed Sheeran), the RIAA Gold-certified smash “Bandana” with Asake, and acclaimed collaborations with cultural titans like Madonna and Skrillex. Following a string of landmark projects—Apollo (2020), Playboy (2022), and Adedamola (2024)—ZUKO! reflects an artist operating at the absolute peak of his craft.

With hundreds of millions of streams, seven Headies Awards, multiple international certifications, and history-making milestones—including becoming the first Afrobeats artist to perform on the BET Awards main stage—Fireboy DML continues to redefine African music on the world stage. Fresh off a standout performance alongside Erykah Badu at Lauryn Hill’s Diaspora Calling! in the UK, ZUKO! stands as Fireboy's most ambitious, introspective, and definitive statement to date.
