Eoin Mac Ionmhain - The Broken Path Eoin Mac Ionmhain
Glass Mastered CD in card wallet
The Broken Path combines elements of drone, folk, blues, traditional Irish music, field recordings of nature and public transport. It is influenced by artists ranging from John Lee Hooker and Howling Wolf to Sunn O))) to Glenn Branca, the cinematic and sound design work of the late David Lynch, and the mood and soundtrack of films such as Wim Wenders' Paris Texas.
All of the tracks on this album are bound together by the shared rhythm of rise and fall of breath, of meditation, of growth and decay. The music evokes the broken mechanical and electrical machinery of modernity being consumed and corroded by nature to create new forms and habitats.
Eoin Mac Ionmhain is a musician based in Dublin, Ireland. Eoin has released various albums and other EPs under the aliases "Calico Jak" and "calicojak" and created soundtracks (solo and in collaboration with others) for the silent films "The Magician" and "Haxan".
