This quintessential collector's edition of Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 1 was the fifth album by Elvis Presley issued by RCA Victor (LPM 1707) in 1March 1958. This masterpiece is a compilation of hit singles released in 1956 and 1957, and widely believed to be the first greatest hits album in rock and roll history. Four further volumes of Elvis' Golden Records followed, all of which were released during Presley's lifetime.

Golden Records Vol.1 contains eight number one A-sides singles along with five B-sides, "Hound Dog", "Loving You", "That's When Your Heartaches Begin", "Treat Me Nice", "Anyway You Want Me", plus "Love Me", which was originally issued on the 1956 LP, 'Elvis'.

Without a doubt, the masterpiece on this compilation helped define the exact nature of early rock & roll and contains commercial hits with which the King of Rock made his name.
