Musea Records are thrilled to announce a major upcoming release, bringing back one of the cornerstones of the Canterbury scene: the legendary Egg album The Civil Surface. Originally released in 1974, this masterpiece by Dave Stewart, Mont Campbell, and Clive Brooks returns in a high-quality 140 gram vinyl edition, limited to just 500 copies worldwide. Blending technical complexity with experimental flair, this album remains a must-have for any serious collector.

Egg were exponents of the so-called 'Canterbury' style of rock music.The band recorded two superb albums for Decca Records between 1969 and 1971 before going their separate ways. In 1974, they recorded their final album for the newly established Virgin Records label.

Featuring guest musicians such as Steve Hillage and members of the unique Henry Cow, The Civil Surface is now regarded as a classic of the 'Progressive' genre. This Esoteric Recordings release has been remastered from the original tapes.
