Over a long and winding four-decade career, Eamonn Dowd has navigated his way through rock, alt-country, folk, garage, lo-fi, and dark ambient experimentation, infusing it all with his unique idiosyncratic vision releasing numerous albums, singles, and EPs along the way.

The new album 'Guided By Ghosts' in many ways doesn't stray too far from the template - an engaging mix of roots rock with gothic country leanings. Here we get dark tales of witchcraft, madness and strangers in dangerous towns. This collection of fictional songs could be set in the here and now or could be 200 years back in the abyss of time. However redemption and revenge walk side by side giving the narrative an optimistic perspective in contrast to previous releases. There are also occasional excursions into instrumental ambient surrealistic landscapes which add a cinematic quality. Times have changed, and there's even a tongue in cheek song about a famous vampire.

Gary Carter, the much in demand Nashville pedal steel player adds his magic touch to the country ballad 'Thief In The Night.' A veteran of the Grand Ole Opry, Gary has played with Faith Hill, Marty Stuart, Randy Travis and Glen Campbell. Racketeers comrade Al Cowan plays drums on the track as well. The album includes the recent singles 'Walking Target' and 'Nosferatu Blues'
