Hindsight Records has curated this remarkable colour edition double vinyl set, featuring the best of Duke Ellington's radio transcriptions from 1946-47, a period often overlooked but rich in musical innovation.

During this time, Ellington's orchestra featured standout performers like Taft Jordan on trumpet and the dazzling high-note virtuoso Cat Anderson, alongside Tricky Sam Nanton and Lawrence Brown on trombone. The saxophone section boasted seasoned veterans Harry Carney and Johnny Hodges, complemented by clarinetist Jimmy Hamilton and tenor saxophonist Al Sears, with bassist Oscar Pettiford anchoring the rhythm section. Ellington's ensemble shines brightly in these recordings, capturing vibrant musical moments.
