Donna Summer rose to prominence during the disco era, earning the title “The Queen of Disco” and becoming one of the most successful recording artists of the 1970s, as well as one of the best-selling female artists of all time, with more than 130 million records sold and billions of streams worldwide.

More than fifty years after the release of her debut international hit, this career-defining albums box set celebrates Donna Summer’s extraordinary legacy through the seven studio and live albums she released internationally for Casablanca Records between 1975 and 1979.

Donna’s groundbreaking anthem Love To Love You Baby was first issued in the Netherlands in June 1975 under the shortened title Love To Love You before being released worldwide later that year following her signing to Casablanca Records. The single reached #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1976, famously held from the top spot by Paul Simon’s 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, though Donna simultaneously ruled the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart for four weeks.

Its parent album, Love To Love You Baby, became the first album she recorded for Neil Bogart’s Casablanca label and reached #11 on the Billboard Albums Chart.

Over the next three years, Donna released a remarkable run of albums including A Love Trilogy, Four Seasons Of Love, I Remember Yesterday and Once Upon A Time..., cementing her status as a global icon. She followed these with six additional US Top 30 albums, including the chart-topping Live And More — featuring the epic seventeen-minute MacArthur Park Suite — and the landmark Bad Girls. Each of these records produced songs that continue to resonate decades later.

Accompanying the set is a newly commissioned essay by Christian John Wikane, written following interviews with Donna, Bruce Sudano, Pete Bellotte, Pattie Brooks, Alec R. Costandinos, Leroy Gómez, Steve Greenberg, David Hodo, Cecil Holmes and Bernie Worrell.

Donna Summer’s music remains deeply relevant today, illustrated most recently by Alysa Liu’s gold medal-winning performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics, which featured a medley from MacArthur Park Suite, including One Of A Kind and Heaven Knows, the latter recorded with Brooklyn Dreams.

The legacy of Donna Summer continues to endure, her music still filling radio stations, dancefloors and television screens around the world.
