Dokken - Erase The Slate Dokken
Limited edition 180g green smoke vinyl LP. Remastered. Limited to 100 copies.
For fans of Dokken, Lynch Mob and classic 1980s metal, Erase The Slate captures one of hard rock’s most enduring bands entering a new era while staying true to the melodic power and technical precision that defined their legacy.
Emerging from Los Angeles in the late 1970s, Dokken became one of the defining acts of the MTV-era hard rock explosion. Led by vocalist Don Dokken, alongside the virtuosic guitar work of George Lynch, bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer Mick Brown, the band built a signature sound that balanced radio-ready hooks with aggressive heavy metal intensity.
Through platinum-selling albums including Breaking The Chains (1983), Tooth And Nail (1984) and Under Lock And Key (1985), Dokken sold more than ten million albums worldwide while delivering era-defining tracks such as Alone Again, In My Dreams and It’s Not Love. Their 1987 album Back For The Attack further cemented the band’s reputation, combining commercial success with increasingly ambitious musicianship.
Originally released in 1999, Erase The Slate marked a fresh chapter for the group with the arrival of guitarist Reb Beach, best known for his work with Winger and later Whitesnake. The album blends Dokken’s classic melodic metal foundations with a more modern late-1990s hard rock approach.
Beach brought a technically fluid and highly polished guitar style that contrasted with the flashier aggression associated with George Lynch, introducing a groove-oriented feel while still delivering soaring solos and muscular riffs throughout the record.
Now remastered and repackaged, Erase The Slate returns on heavyweight 180-gram green smoke vinyl, offering a renewed look at one of the most underrated chapters in Dokken’s catalogue
