3CD - Limited Edition. Housed in a digi-sleeve featuring art inspired by Mark’s National Style ‘O’ Resonator Guitar, seen on the cover of the studio album, the deluxe version includes a 28-page booklet featuring new liner notes, written by Paul Sexton, following new interviews with band members. Includes the full album tracks, along with a previously unreleased full-length live concert from the band’s Live In ’85 Tour, recorded at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio.

One of the world’s best-selling albums, Dire StraitsBrothers In Arms, celebrates its 40th anniversary with an exquisite product suite—including a 5LP and 3CD deluxe edition, as well as a superdeluxeedition.com Blu-ray.

Produced by Neil Dorfsman and Mark Knopfler, and recorded between November 1984 and March 1985 at AIR Studios in Montserrat and the Power Station in NYC, Dire Straits’ fifth studio album, Brothers In Arms, was originally released on May 17, 1985. It was the first album to sell over a million copies on CD and went on to become the band’s most commercially successful album.

The album, featuring singles “So Far Away”, “Money For Nothing”, “Walk Of Life”, “Brothers In Arms”, and “Your Latest Trick”, spent 14 non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 on the UK Albums Chart. It is the eighth best-selling album in UK chart history. Among its many accolades, it won the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and the BRIT Award for Best British Album.

The 5LP and 3CD deluxe versions include the full album tracks, along with a previously unreleased full-length live concert from the band’s Live In ’85 Tour, recorded at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio. The tour ran for a total of 248 gigs across 117 cities in 23 countries, with 11 trucks carrying 52 tonnes of equipment. It was seen by over two and a half million people.

The 5LP set is housed in a beautiful slipcase featuring artwork inspired by Mark Knopfler’s National Style “O” Resonator Guitar, which appears on the album’s iconic cover. These deluxe versions also include a 16-page booklet featuring new liner notes by journalist Paul Sexton, based on fresh interviews with band members Mark Knopfler, John Illsley, and Guy Fletcher. Additionally, the set comes with exclusive art prints.

Reissued in this configuration for the first time since 1985, the single-sleeve 1LP mirrors the original pressing, where tracks “So Far Away”, “Money For Nothing”, “Your Latest Trick”, and “Why Worry?” were abridged to fit the vinyl format.

As part of the 40th anniversary celebration, a superdeluxeedition.com Blu-ray is also being released. This exclusive single-disc audio product features the 2023 Dolby Atmos Mix, 2023 Dolby Atmos Mix Instrumentals, the 2005 5.1 mix, the CD version stereo mix, and the 1985 vinyl version stereo mix. It also includes a booklet with exclusive liner notes by Guy Fletcher.
