Delain - Frozen Silhouettes 2006-2009 Delain

3CD anthology covering the Dutch symphonic metal group’s early years. Includes live bonus tracks and an instrumental version of their debut album 'Lucidity'.

Dutch symphonic metal band Delain were formed by former Within Temptation keyboard player Martijn Westerholt. Fronted by Charlotte Wessels on lead vocals, Delain had initially been conceived as a studio project for Westerholt’s songs, employing a number of session musicians and guest appearances, but the success of debut album, 'Lucidity' (CD 1) led to a fully-fledged touring band, featuring Ronald Landa on guitar, Rob van der Loo on bass and Sander Zoer on drums.

Recorded between 2005 and 2006, 'Lucidity' was released by Roadrunner Records in September 2006, featuring the singles ‘Frozen’, ‘See Me in Shadow’, ‘Shattered' and ‘The Gathering'.

The band put together to support the debut on the road was retained for second album, 'April Rain' (CD 2). Featuring the singles ‘April Rain’, ‘Stay Forever’ and ‘Nothing Left’, the album was released by Roadrunner in March 2009.

This 3CD collection includes a wealth of bonus tracks, including live versions of ‘Silhouette Of A Dancer’, ‘Pristine’ and ‘Shattered’, plus a whole disc featuring an instrumental version of debut album 'Lucidity'.
