The title of 2001’s In Torment in Hell may well have referred to Deicide’s collective state of mind as much as it reflected the band’s trademark dark metaphysical and religious themes.At the time, the band were at each other’s throats and at war with their label, Roadrunner Records, making this their final album for the imprint.The turmoil resulted in less-than-kind reviews from both fans and the band themselves.With the benefit of time, however, its even-more-breakneck-than-usual tempos and tracks such as Child of God and the title track In Torment in Hell stand as another head-spinning death metal anti-exorcism.To celebrate its 25th anniversary, In Torment in Hell has been remastered for vinyl and pressed on appropriately infernal red smoke vinyl.This marks the album’s first standalone LP release and includes a printed insert.
