The third (and best) album from Deftones, finally back in stock. A quantum leap for the nu-metal genre. Incredible depth of care was put into this record's production, matching the quality of songwriting that shifted the band firmly into the realms of critical adoration. Obvious reference points would be the darker end of The Cure's catalogue or rock masterpieces like Tool's Undertow and Soundgarden's Superunknown, but this is a singular piece of work that may not be possible for any band to match. A high watermark for metal.
