David Live is David Bowie’s first official live vinyl record, originally released by RCA Records in 1974, and reissued by Warner on vinyl in Ireland on February 10th 2017.
The album was recorded in July 1974, on the initial leg of Bowie’s US Diamond Dogs Tour, at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. (The second leg, a more soul-oriented affair following recording sessions in Philadelphia for the bulk of Young Americans, would be renamed ‘Philly Dogs’). It marks his transition from glam rock to plastic soul, but there's nothing plastic about the soulful reworkings of All The Young Dudes and Space Oddity, along with a passionate, torch song version of Rock 'n' Roll Suicide.
This release has 4 bonus tracks compared to the original version: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, Space Oddity, Panic In Detroit and Time.
