Led by Boy George, a renowned figure in London’s vibrant Blitz Club scene of the early 1980s, Culture Club were at the forefront of the New Romantic movement. They helped spearhead the “Second British Invasion” of the US with the release of their 1982 debut album, Kissing to Be Clever. A No. 5 hit at home and a chart contender around the world, the album included the global smash hit Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and the playful, horns-assisted pop of I’ll Tumble 4 Ya, alongside seven other tracks that showcased the group’s catchy mix of new wave, pop, reggae, and soul music.

With their genre-mashing sound and vibrant fashions influencing today’s up-and-coming acts, Culture Club’s popularity shows no sign of dimming. You wouldn’t bet against them adding to the long list of awards they’ve already amassed in their four-decade-plus career.
