2LP - Reissue On 180g Black Vinyl
“Wheels of Fire,” the third album by British rock band Cream, was released in August 1968. The album features one disc recorded in the studio and another recorded live. It achieved remarkable success, reaching number three in the United Kingdom and number one in the United States, becoming the world's first platinum-selling double album.
Drummer Ginger Baker collaborated with pianist Mike Taylor to co-write three songs, while bassist Jack Bruce teamed up with poet Pete Brown to co-write four tracks. Guitarist Eric Clapton contributed to the album by selecting two older blues songs.
For the live disc, Felix Pappalardi chose Traintime to highlight Jack Bruce's harmonica solo and Toad to showcase Ginger Baker's drumming, while Spoonful and Crossroads were selected to spotlight Eric Clapton's guitar work.
