Classic Hiss is proud to present ‘Classic Hiss: Boreens & Backroads’ — a compilation of covers of songs by Pavement, Silver Jews, David Berman, and Gary Young, reimagined by a cross-section of Irish underground artists.
This is Volume 1 of a two-part project, featuring 14 acts from across Ireland’s DIY and independent scenes. A second volume with 16 more artists will follow later this year.
Why this record exists -
We are horrified by the ongoing situation in Gaza. Money raised from ‘Boreens & Backroads’ will go directly to Palestinian aid organisations and legal aid for activism. Proof of donations will be posted publicly.
Music doesn’t change the world on its own, but solidarity matters. This compilation is our way of standing with the Palestinian people, and of using the DIY community we love to channel support where it’s needed most.
