Ciarán - Róisín Ciarán
Black 140g vinyl LP housed in full colour gatefold outer sleeve and printed inner sleeve.
Irish multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ciarán officially announces ‘Róisín’ his debut solo album, scheduled for release on November 6th on Ninja Tune.
For over a decade, Ciarán has been one of modern music's most intriguing and elusive creative voices. Best known as the vocalist, songwriter and producer FKA Bearface in BROCKHAMPTON who disbanded in 2022, his contributions helped shape some of the group's most beloved and emotionally resonant moments, earning a devoted global following drawn to his singular blend of vulnerability, melody and experimentation.
‘Róisín' marks his first full-length project since working under his previous moniker. With the release of debut single “K-Bar” in July - which has already amassed half a million streams, the arrival of Ciarán’s latest chapter was met with immediate excitement from fans who have been eagerly awaiting news from the artist.
With an album title that carries more weight than first meets the eye, Ciarán is now ready to unveil the full spectrum of his musical prowess across 13 beautiful tracks. ‘Róisín’ traces a journey of Ciarán reclaiming his own name. Rather than a self-titled debut, he presents Róisín - the Irish name meaning ‘little rose’. Once destined to be his middle name, the title is a symbolic anchor for the project and one that pays homage to his Irish roots. “I was always hesitant to go by Ciarán,” he said, thinking people would struggle to pronounce his name at first, he later realised it made perfect sense. “People learn how to pronounce difficult names all the time. Irish names are beautiful.”
After BROCKHAMPTON, Ciarán found himself in a place of complete sonic freedom. While figuring out how to channel it, he moved back to New York to map out what those possibilities could be. Reflecting on that dynamic, he said: “We’d be like, ‘You gotta have a song a day or an idea a day, even if you’re not in the mood - just sit down and do something. A lot of those ideas ended up making the album - little production ideas or a melody - just wound up making its way in.”
Not limited by genre, there’s no single way to describe Róisín. Rife with guitars, distorted vocals, and the collision of harsh textures and dreamy chords, listeners will no doubtably be drawn into Ciarán’s ever enticing sonic universe.
