“Crossing The Bar” sees Charles James & The Rise debut with a stunning album this September. Hailing from Donegal, the group are musically influenced by the darker side of the folk scene and the more haunting elements of choral music. 2023 saw Charles James & The Rise named Highland Radio’s winner in Hot Press’ A New Local Hero awards. In 2024 their single “Carry On” was named Hot Press’ Track of the Day upon release and “Drinking the Ghosts” Away also saw the band named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s (ES) 20 Artists You Should Know. 2025 kicked off with a showcase at Your Roots Are Showing festival, increased national and international airplay and a headline tour of Ireland to promote their debut album.
