The Singularity: Ekleipsis is the latest album from Bear McCreary's symphonic metal project, The Singularity. Following the release of the ambitious 2024 concept album, this new chapter continues its expansive story of a damaged world in turmoil.
Written primarily by Bear McCreary and his brother Brendan McCreary, Ekleipsis takes its title from the ancient Greek word for "abandonment" and explores themes of disillusionment, resilience, and perseverance through struggle. Combining symphonic arrangements with powerful hard rock and metal, the album builds on the cinematic scale that has become McCreary's signature.
The album features an impressive line-up of guest musicians, including Joe Duplantier (Gojira), Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Claudio Sanchez (Coheed and Cambria), Jens Kidman (Meshuggah), Alissa White-Gluz, Tim Henson (Polyphia), Steve Vai, Slash, Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Stewart Copeland (The Police), creating an ambitious fusion of progressive metal, hard rock, and orchestral grandeur.
