BARATRO - NO COMPLY BARATRO

Baratro was born when Fede of Council of Rats and Dave of Unsane met at a show in the legendary Milan squat Cox18 and started trading riffs and song ideas. After a while they decided to shape these experiments into a proper band and brought in Luca of Marnero on drums to complete the line-up.

After a few months of rehearsals and a couple of shows in Italy, the band recorded their first six songs in the empty concert hall of Cox18, later released as the EP Terms and Conditions via Sangue Dischi Records in July 2021.

With the worldwide shutdown of live performances during 2020 and 2021, the band focused on writing new music. In August 2021 they began recording their first full-length effort, The Sweet Smell of Unrest, which was released in February 2024 via Improved Sequence.

In 2024, Baratro joined forces with cellist Matteo Bennici to experiment as a quartet, both in composition and live performance. With this new formation and the chemistry it created, the band simply allowed dynamics and mutual trust to shape the outcome of the music.

This new creative process led, around a year later, to the recording sessions for their second full-length album, No Comply, set for release via Supernatural Cat.
