The Almighty - Tribal The Almighty

The Almighty were formed in Glasgow, Scotland, on 19 January 1988. If the T-shirt from their 20th Anniversary Tour is to be believed, they were "Probably the Best Band in Strathaven"—a tongue-in-cheek nod to the famous Carlsberg slogan.

The band's members came from a strong punk background. Frontman Ricky Warwick had previously undertaken session and touring work with New Model Army, although he did not appear on any of their studio recordings.

In January 2008, The Almighty reunited for a full UK tour celebrating the band's 20th anniversary. Playing to packed venues across the country, the shows featured a dream setlist for longtime fans, including several songs that had not been performed live since they were originally written.
