Phil Collins - Both Sides (2026 Reissue) Phil Collins

On the day before Phil Collins is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame we will reissue his entire catalogue on vinyl with the original sleeves, featuring the 2016 remasters. This follows the previous versions that featured the 2015/2016 deluxe edition sleeves, but they will now revert to the original.

With Both Sides, Phil Collins stripped everything back—literally. Writing, performing, and producing the entire album himself, he created his most unfiltered and personal record, a late-night confessional that trades stadium-sized hooks for atmosphere, emotional nuance, and a kind of fragile honesty rarely heard at his commercial peak.

Born out of a period of deep personal turmoil, the album leans into mood and texture: brooding synths, patient drum programming, and melodies that unfurl at their own pace. Songs like “Both Sides of the Story” and “Can’t Turn Back the Years” wrestle with empathy, regret, and the impossible task of untangling the messiness of relationships, while quieter moments—“Everyday,” “We’re Sons of Our Fathers”—reveal a songwriter searching for clarity more than catharsis.

Long overshadowed by his blockbuster hits, Both Sides stands as one of Collins’ most quietly daring works. It’s reflective, intimate, and deeply human—a record that invites listeners into his internal world and lets the walls stay down.
