Spindizzy Records: August 2026
Greetings and welcome to Spindizzy’s August blog, where we take a look at what’s buzzing in the Shop this month and what’s to come in September.
August was another bumper month for in-store events at Spindizzy. A big thank you to all who came to support the Artists. We’re delighted to report that Dave Lofts and Really Good Time made Number 1 in the Irish Indies Charts on the back of these Instore shows. Ultras played a blinder and are surely an act to watch for the future. Shakalak showcased their second album, Kulture Bikki, and rocked the house – if you missed it, see for yourself on our YouTube channel along with other recent uploads, including an incredible show from Makeshift Art Bar.
We’ll be extra busy with great in-stores throughout this September too, with Last Apollo, Winemom, Sorcha Richardson, The Next New Low and David Geraghty. October brings Morgana, Caroline Rose, and Basht. to the shop, with more to announce.
Spindizzy will be presenting some outstore events over the next few weeks, with Gurriers in the Grand Social. We’ll be back in the Grand Social again in December with The Script, before travelling to Limerick and Galway with the band to showcase their new No.1 album, The User’s Guide to Being Human.
We had advance listening parties in-store this month too, with attendees hearing debut spins from Phoebe Bridgers and Durutti Column. Upcoming listening parties include Dexys Midnight Runners, Beabadoobee and more announcing soon.
After a bumper Festival summer, our Pre-Order pages on the Website are brimming with tonnes of new music and fresh re-issues to keep you entertained as the evenings draw in. Fontaines D.C. are back with a bang with Dopamine Chamber releasing on October 16. Spindizzy has some limited edition formats that are selling fast! Cameron Winter follows up the phenomenon that is Heavy Metal with Live at the Carnegie Hall – limited edition versions available here. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have no less than 6 releases coming soon. Dexys, Mac Miller and Post Malone all have upcoming releases, as do Amble, Swans, Nouvelle Vague, Ruts DC, Soul Survivors, Ghost Dubs, Lisa Murray, Bush, Shabazz Palaces, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and more!
Reissues coming soon, also available in our Pre-order section of the website, include Boo Radleys, Tone Poet releases from Freddie Hubbard and Booker Ervin, classic Jazz from Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Woody Shaw and more. St Germain (Boulevard), St Etienne, Beth Orton, Cornelius, ODB, DJ Shadow, Studio One business courtesy of Soul Jazz Records (Dubplate Special LP and 5 x 7”s), Upsetters, Wipers, Silver Apples, Cabaret Voltaire, Cramps, Zara MacFarlane, Bob Dylan, Suzanne Vega, Neil Young’s Tonight’s the Night, Hard-Fi, RHCP, Felice Brothers, Christian Death, Sabaton, Fluke, Caribou (4 titles), Baxter Dury, Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan, Acid Mothers Temple, Budgie, Clipping, Iranian Nuggets and a slew of Japanese Jazz – all coming soon and available to pre-order at Spindizzy! And much more!

See y’all soon!
Spindizzy Records: July 2026
Welcome to this month’s blog, a round-up of the happenings at Spindizzy Records this July and a look ahead to what’s in store for August.
July was jam-packed with advance listening parties in the Shop. Attendees were amongst the first in the world to hear new albums from Jack White, The Rolling Stones, The Strokes and The Durutti Column. More listening parties are scheduled – Phoebe Bridgers and Dexy’s amongst others. Keep in touch with what’s in the pipeline on the Events page on our website and on our socials. (Exclusive goodies and prizes for those who sign up, by the way!)
We hosted some very special events over the last month. We were thrilled to have Julia Jacklin join us, giving a spellbinding solo performance in advance of the release of The Gem on 4AD in September, available to pre-order here. Makeshift Art Bar gave an amazing show here that will live long in the memory. At the time of writing, there are still some signed copies of their brilliant Marionette EP available.
We were honoured to host Waterboys frontman Mike Scott in conversation with Jim Carroll, diving deep into the momentous period surrounding the recording of Fisherman's Blues. Those who attended the event at the Chelsea Drugstore were enthralled by stories behind the scenes of the seminal record. Almost 400 multi-track tape reels, totalling 150 hours of music, were recorded during The Waterboys' famous Fisherman's Blues sessions of 1986–88. Among these were 80 tapes with no song titles, just rough notes like "jam" or "unknown." Mike shed light on the people, process and time that helped make the record the classic that it is. Atlantic Rain: The Lost Fisherman's Blues Recordings is a must for all Waterboys fans!
A special thank you to Someneck Guitars, Music Maker, Chelsea Drugstore, our wonderful neighbours in the George's Street Arcade, and all those who came along for helping make all these events so special!
August is shaping up to be a bumper month for album launches at Spindizzy. Don’t miss out on the chance to see, hear and meet Ultras, Dave Lofts and Really Good Time. Spindizzy Crew will be out in force to see Shakalak showcase their sophomore release, Kulture Bikki, on Sunday, August 9.
Many of our shows are captured on video and available to watch on the Spindizzy YouTube channel. Latest uploads include shows from Ellie O’Neill, Wifeswap, AE MAK and Cable Boy.
New music highlights, available to pre-order, include releases from Baxter Dury, Tom Morello, Lizzy McAlpine, Teenage Fanclub, Orville Peck, Andy Bell, Robyn Hitchcock, Twenty One Pilots, Ozric Tentacles, Orchestra Baobab, Sigh, My Dying Bride, Folk Bitch Trio and many, many more.
Reissues and archive recordings coming soon to Spindizzy include titles from Aphex Twin, Queen, Macy Gray, Kneecap, Clairo, Ida, Sheila Chandra, Bright Eyes, The Cranberries, Twisted Teens, De La Soul, Daniel, Focus, Devo, Wipers, Sea Scouts, Black Mountain, Jethro Tull, a slew of UK dub reissues from Partial and Conscious Sounds, and much more. More titles are added daily – sign up to our daily mailout to keep up to date with the latest listings. The Beatles' Rubber Soul gets a super-deluxe reissue treatment. Audiophiles should check out UHQ releases from Chris Isaak, Rodriguez, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and more!
There have been tonnes of Dinked announcements this month, all available at Spindizzy. Music from The Mary Wallopers, Phoebe Bridgers, Clara Mann, Beach Bunny, Nieve Ella, Gotts Street Park, Bloc Party, Master Peace, Greg Freeman, Dry Cleaning, Howling Bells, The Sick Man of Europe, Railcard, Bodega, Penelope Isles, as well as archive releases from Strut (Nigeria 80), Mort Garson and Pixies, all get the luxurious Dinked treatment. These editions are all strictly limited, so keep in touch with our socials for all Dinked announcements.
As ever, the shop is positively brimming with music of all styles. Second Hand arrivals of note include a massive Dance Music collection, which we are making our way through, with drops happening almost every day. Also, a huge CD collection will be hitting the shelves over the coming weeks. All used items are available in-store only and are strictly one-offs. Drop in to Spindizzy in the George's Street Arcade to bag yourself some nuggets!
If you are searching for a bargain, check our On Sale section on the website, with new titles added daily. Again, these are mostly one-offs – when they’re gone, they’re definitely gone!
This week Dublin has lost one of its favourite sons, with the tragic, untimely passing of Glen Hansard – a troubadour in the real sense of the word and a true gentleman. We are still reeling from the news. We extend our condolences and heartfelt wishes to his family and his many, many good friends.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Peace.
