SPORTS TEAM - Deep Down Happy - LP €20.99 (Island) - Limited Orange Vinyl - Here’s the thing… Sports Team are a band of six singular characters who have been variously described as one of the most raucous, electrifying and chaotic acts in the UK. JACK GARRATT - Love, Death & Dancing - 2LP €23.99 (Island) - Indies Exclusive Transparent Vinyl - Jack Garratt releases his second album Love, Death and Dancing, his first new music since 2016. The music is performed solely by Jack, and produced alongside Jacknife Lee and James Flannigan. Love, Death and Dancing is a joyous album. It isn’t afraid to lay bare the torment that led up to and informed its creation. But it is also a triumphant testament to survival, and to courage. Standouts include the naked soul baring She Will Lay My Body On The Stone, the bluesy spaciousness of Anyone which recalls Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac and the anguished, propulsive Better, which channels the Beach Boys, Daft Punk and Beat It.

NORAH JONES - Love, Death And Dancing -LP €20.99(Virgin/EMI) - Limited Indies BlacK & White Vinyl - Norah Jones didn't mean to make another album. After she finished touring 2016's Day Breaks — her beloved return to piano-based jazz — she walked away from the well-worn album cycle grind and into an unfamiliar territory without boundaries: a series of short sessions with an ever-changing array of collaborators resulting in a diverse stream of singles (with Mavis Staples, Rodrigo Amarante, Thomas Bartlett, Tarriona Tank Ball, and more). But then an odd thing happened. Slowly but surely, the session songs Jones hadn't released congealed into that very thing she'd meant to avoid — an album, lucky for us. Because 'Pick Me Up Off The Floor' is not some disjointed collage. It holds together beautifully, connected by the sly groove of her piano trios, lyrics that confront loss and portend hope, and a heavy mood that leans into darkness before ultimately finding the light.
